HELPFUL TIPS:
Change your filters regularly! We cannot stress this one enough. Change them monthly. They will block out dust and allergens while helping your unit work to its very best ability!
Check the switch on the side of your unit. Units have an on/off button and sometimes the switch is accidentally bumped to the “off” position. When “off” the unit won’t run. So make certain the switch is in the “on” position.
Maintain a clean unit! This is the best way for homeowners to avoid HVAC equipment problems. Preventative ways to do this are:
Keep the unit clear of ice, snow or leaking gutters.Winter months bring freezing rain and ice, as the ice builds up on top of the unit air flow becomes restricted. This can cause the whole unit to freeze-up!
Check your thermostat setting. Is your switch set to “off” instead of “heat” or “cool?”
Consider a programmable thermostat. These not only save you money (by cutting back on how often you run your unit while away from home), but allow you to control your comfort!
Have a Routine Maintenance Plan. Prevention is better than cure. (And it’s more cost-efficient, too!) Give us a call at: 615-254-5494.
